Hyundai recently developed a high-end EV charging system concept that can pair with autonomous vehicle technology. This system allows you to not only save money on fuel, but it also works to make driving more convenient. With features like the Automated Valet Parking System (AVPS), you can squeeze into even the tightest spots.
According to Hyundai, users of the future will be able to essentially pair their vehicle with a smartphone app and command it to charge. Then, the system will drive itself to a vacant wireless charging system. Once it finishes charging, it will move to another vacant spot and return to the driver when called. In short, you won’t have to worry about parking and charging again.
“The system will offer a convenience to drivers who are faced with an overcrowding of both parking and charging locations as electric vehicle numbers grow steadily. It relocates fully charged vehicles from charging stations and allow other awaiting electric vehicles to charge,” reads the Hyundai press release.
While just a concept vehicle Hyundai has recently introduced alongside Kia, the new AVPS system is just one of many things that sets this brand apart. Whether you want the latest high-tech gadgets or you’d simply like to decrease your carbon footprint, Hyundai has everything you could ever want. Once again, a Hyundai vehicle has garnered a prestigious Editor’s Choice award from Car and Driver. This time, the 2019 Hyundai Veloster Turbo is the recipient of this well-regarded distinction. Given the 2019 Veloster Turbo’s incredible feature set, striking style, and exhilarating powertrain, the distinction comes as no surprise, though it does reaffirm what we already knew — this bold compact is an absolute blast to drive.
Car and Driver praised the Veloster’s “stiff structure, great steering, and a well-tuned suspension” which “make it feel lovely on twisty roads.” Scott Margason, Director of Product Planning for Hyundai Motor America, noted that the award is “another proof point of Hyundai’s commitment to excellence.”
The 2019 Hyundai Veloster Turbo comes equipped with a 201-horsepower engine that generates 195 lb-ft of torque for an ultra-responsive, undeniably thrilling experience on the road. And thanks to a new multi-link rear suspension, each ride is as smooth as it is fun.
The 2019 Veloster Turbo also offers an available Infinity premium audio system, and striking infotainment display, and standard Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ compatibility, all of which go a long way in making the 2019 Veloster Turbo exceptional fun, even at a complete standstill.
Like in all aspects of life, bad habits can be easy to fall into. When it comes to car care, though, bad habits could be doing some serious harm to your car and putting you at risk on the road. Are you guilty of any of these bad car maintenance habits? Check out this list to find out if your car could be in better shape.
Neglecting fluid checks
Most drivers know they are supposed to regularly change their car’s motor oil, but many drivers neglect to monitor and change other important fluids. You should regularly keep an eye on coolant, brake and transmission fluids, as these are all crucial to your vehicle’s overall performance. The good news is, checking up on and replenishing these fluids is easy and inexpensive.
Ignoring failing brakes
If you’ve noticed your car making a grinding or squeaking sound when you apply the brakes, don’t ignore this. This probably means your car’s brakes or brake pads need to be replaced. When dealt with early, this is a quick and easy fix, but putting it off can quickly result in the need for expensive repairs.
Driving with old air filters
Relatively few drivers remember — or even know — to routinely replace their car’s cabin and engine air filters. Since they’re inexpensive, it’s a good idea to change out your car’s air filters a couple times a year or every time you change your car’s oil. Doing so will help keep your engine running smoothly and the interior of your car comfortable.
