Picking the Right Child Seat for Your Hyundai Crossover or SUV

Traveling with kids is hardly the same experience twice. One day they can be calm and content to watch the world go by. Other days, the journey bores them or makes them cry, fidget or at worst, scream. Although you can’t control their emotional state while you’re on the road, you can help keep them safe by picking the right child seat for your Hyundai crossover or SUV.

The first step in choosing the right car seat for your child is abiding by guidelines from safety experts such as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The age and weight of your child will determine when he or she is ready to move from a rear-facing car seat to a forward-facing car seat. Or when a booster seat is no longer needed, and he or she can safely ride with just a fastened seatbelt.

To support your efforts in choosing the right car seat, Hyundai creates vehicles that boast high safety ratings and advanced safety systems and features.

The Enhanced Safety Features of the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe

The all-new 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe retains its bold style and advanced technology for the new model year. However, the SUV has also received some major improvements, including repackaged equipment and enhanced safety features.

The 2020 Santa Fe has two powertrain options, each paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The more powerful of the two is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which achieves 235 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.

Keeping you connected on the road, the Santa Fe offers the available AVN 5.0 navigation system, which has Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® compatibilities. Plus, the available Infinity® stereo system is equipped with 12 speakers and 630 watts of power, creating incredible sound quality for listening to all your favorite songs.

Best of all are the new safety features on the 2020 Santa Fe. The new Blind-View Monitor works with the available Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist to help you stay aware of vehicles beside you. Meanwhile, Rear Occupant Alert will help you remember when there are people or pets in the back seat.

Our team at Tipton Hyundai is impressed by the new features on the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe. Try out the features for yourself when you take this SUV for a test drive.

Hyundai Comes in Second in 2019 Initial Quality Study

When you buy a new car, you want to enjoy worry-free driving for years to come. The J.D. Power 2019 Initial Quality Study is here to help you choose the best brand for your next car. For the second year in a row, Hyundai ranked second among non-premium brands.

In this study, J.D. Power surveyed new car owners and asks them about any problems they encountered during the first 90 days of ownership. The results are reported as problems per 100 vehicles (PP100). Hyundai came away with a score of 71 PP100, which was better than the industry average of 93 PP100. This was three fewer PP100 than was reported in the 2018 study.

“Hyundai owners and new car shoppers can have peace of mind in knowing that our new vehicle quality continues to be among the best in the industry,” said Barry Ratzlaff, vice president, Customer Satisfaction for Hyundai Motor America.

Along with coming in second for non-premium brands, Hyundai kept is third-place position among all brands. In addition, the Hyundai Santa Fe earned the best score for mid-size SUVs in initial quality. Coming in second in their segments was the Tucson, Accent, Veloster, and Elantra. The Sonata and Kona each finished third.
