Although the updates for the 2021 model year of the Hyundai
Sonata are minimal thanks to the model’s overhaul in 2020, the new features are
noteworthy. New wheels offer a bolder exterior design and enhanced performance
while advanced safety tech helps safeguard your journey.
The 2021 Hyundai Sonata features 19-inch alloy wheels, which are perfectly paired to 245/40 R19 Pirelli P Zero™ tires. Standard on the SEL Plus trim, the new wheel-tire combination optimizes performance, grip, and noise cancellation no matter the season.
The Safe Exit Warning system, a standard feature on trims
above the SE level, will warn you and your passengers of dangers as you get out
of the Sonata. Under proper conditions, you’ll hear an audible warning and see
a visual alert if oncoming traffic threatens your safety. The system works in
tandem with the model’s blind-spot warning system.
Your passenger can adjust the height of their seat with the
touch of a button in the Limited trim of the 2021 Sonata.
The 2021 Sonata is available at four trim levels — SE, SEL,
SEL Plus and Limited — just like the 2020 model. You can still choose between
two Smartstream gas powertrains to fuel your 2021 Sonata.

For the 2020 model year, Hyundai set out to completely redesign the Sonata into a striking, fun-to-drive sedan with luxurious touches that would make higher-priced sedans blush. The all-new Sonata is stylish, affordable, and capable.
The all-new Sonata was formed inside and out to be a joy to look at. The curvaceous exterior updates are a preview of the ergonomically designed interior. The dashboard is adorned with an available 10.3-inch infotainment touchscreen that makes controlling the sedan’s settings a walk in the park, while four simple buttons appear in lieu of a shifter to streamline the driving experience.
The 2020 Sonata looks and drives like it belongs in the high-end luxury class, but is predicted to be just as affordable as the rest of Hyundai’s lineup. Premium safety and convenience features like key fob-controlled backup for ease of entry and exit when parking boost the Sonata’s value.
The Sonata’s 1.6-liter engine is estimated to reach 60 mph in 7.3 seconds and offers 180 horsepower. The Sonata delivers 195 lb-ft of torque, and features an automatic eight-speed transmission.
The all-new 2020 Hyundai Sonata is now available at Tipton Hyundai. Contact our sales team if you’re interested in setting up a test drive as soon as the new Sonata rolls on the lot.
Hyundai did well at the recent AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards, beating out several key competitors to earn four top spots. The brand won an overall title, while the Sonata, Elantra, and Accent specifically earned awards for their respective classes.
AutoPacific is a marketing research and product-consulting company that gives out the Vehicle Satisfaction Awards by looking at qualities that are important to car shoppers when they’re buying new cars. After tallying survey results from approximately 58,000 people, the AutoPacific group found that Hyundai earned the 2018 Most Satisfying Popular Brand award. The Sonata took the gold for mid-size cars; the Elantra won in the compact class; and the Accent won in the economy category, according to Hyundai.
“Hyundai has consistently improved their lineup across the board,” said George Peterson, president, AutoPacific. “This year’s VSAs were competitive, but Hyundai’s products resonate top to bottom with their customers. From reliability and quality to exceptional exterior and interior design, Hyundai cars leave consumers satisfied.”
So far, the Sonata is the best Hyundai in terms of awards, as this mid-size car has award-winning safety, top-notch technologies, and a sleek new design for this latest model year. The Elantra comes with smart features such as disc brakes, heated mirrors, and driver assist technologies, while the upscale Accent will wrap you in comfort as you drive.
