We’re proud of the vehicles we sell at Tipton Hyundai, and we aren’t the only ones who recognize the greatness of the Hyundai brand. Recently, Car and Driver magazine released its annual list of favorite vehicles, and seven Hyundai models made the cut. Here’s a quick look at the stellar models that made the 2021 Car and Driver Editors’ Choice List — all of which are available at our dealership in Brownsville, Texas.
First up was the Hyundai Accent, which impressed the judges with its stylish interior and mature design. Next was the Hyundai Elantra, which was recognized for its striking exterior and exciting N Line trim level. The Hyundai Sonata’s features and fuel economy gave it a high spot on the list, and the Hyundai Veloster N stood out for its hatchback design and turbo-powered performance.
The subcompact Hyundai Kona was praised for its “cheeky design” and turbo engine, and its all-electric cousin, the Hyundai Kona Electric, was applauded for its range.
Last but not least, the Hyundai Palisade earned a spot on the 2021 Car and Driver Editor’s Choice List for its spacious interior, segment-leading features, and classy trim levels.

Kelley Blue Book, or KBB for short, is a highly respected resource for new car buyers looking for unbiased information as they decide between hundreds of options. The publication honors a handful of vehicles with the Best Buy Award to help customers recognize high-value vehicles. For 2021, KBB honored three Hyundai vehicles as Best Buys.
2021 Kona: KBB named the 2021 Hyundai Kona Electric as the best electric vehicle in its class. On top of the Kona’s efficient 258-mile range, comfortable interior, and luxurious included features, KBB loved that the Kona is much more exciting to drive than the typical electric vehicle.
2021 Santa Fe: Though it should come as no surprise to anyone who has been behind the wheel of the Santa Fe, Hyundai’s popular crossover was named as KBB’s best midsize SUV. KBB appreciated how re-energized the SUV felt after its model-year makeover, and appreciated its upgraded powertrains and new wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ capabilities.
2021 Elantra: The Hyundai Elantra beat out dozens of vehicles in the competition to be crowned as KBB’s best compact car. KBB adored the Elantra’s crisp handling, high-efficiency engine options, and swanky standard features.

No matter what kind of SUV you’re looking for, you can probably find it in the Hyundai lineup. The automaker has worked hard over the past few years to expand its SUV offerings with new additions like the three-row Palisade and city-friendly Venue. Those efforts paid off in a major way recently when Hyundai was named the Best SUV Brand of 2021 by U.S. News & World Report.
U.S. News was especially impressed by the budget-friendly pricing, high-value standard features, award-winning safety, and warranty-backed reliability presented by Hyundai SUV models.
“We know that shoppers have different needs, so at Hyundai we’ve developed an all-encompassing SUV lineup that exceeds those needs,” said Olabisi Boyle, vice president of product planning and mobility strategy for Hyundai Motor North America.
If you’re looking for a smaller SUV, Hyundai has two for you to consider: the tough, city-friendly Venue and the sleek, sporty Kona. Need something for the whole family? The popular eight-passenger Palisade fits the bill perfectly.
If you need something in between, Hyundai just released the redesigned midsize 2021 Santa Fe, and the all-new Tucson compact SUV is coming later this year.
Whatever you’re seeking in your next SUV, the best way to find it is by visiting us for a test drive here at Tipton Hyundai in Brownsville, Texas.
For the second year running, Autotrader has named Hyundai the best non-luxury CPO program, in part because it has the longest manufacturer warranty coverage in the industry.
It’s also the third time in the last four years that Hyundai
took the top spot among non-luxury brands for its certified pre-owned vehicle
program. According to Autotrader
executive editor Brian Moody, there’s very good reason for that honor.
“Hyundai’s certified pre-owned program is a significant
value and perfect for budget-minded shoppers looking for a no-hassle,
affordable car,” he said, adding that the length of the powertrain warranty,
limited bumper-to-bumper new car warranty, and 10-year roadside assistance were
hard to beat. “In fact, if you want a better overall certified program, you’ll
need to move up to a luxury brand.”
To determine the best CPO programs, Autotrader looks at warranty as well as available inventory,
deductible amount, and transferability to future vehicle owners.
Hyundai’s CPO program includes the following features:
A comprehensive 173-point quality assurance
A 10-year/100,000-mile CPO powertrain limited
The remainder of the 5-year/60,000-mile new
vehicle limited warranty from the original in-service date and zero miles
10-year/unlimited mileage roadside assistance
from the original in-service date and zero miles
Rental car and travel interruption reimbursement
SiriusXM® satellite radio with no-charge,
three-month All Access trial
A complimentary CARFAX® Vehicle History Report™
