When you thought about plug-in hybrids in the past, your mind might have filled with images of smaller sedans. Upgrade your brain, because the recently revealed 2022 Hyundai Tucson Plug-In Hybrid is ready to offer you a greener driving option with true SUV versatility.
The Tucson PHEV gives you the option to fill up your tank at the pump or plug into a charger to prepare for the day ahead. Its electric motor works together with a 13.8-kilowatt battery that charges in under two hours when you use the onboard plug. When paired with its 1.6-liter turbo gas engine, the powertrain is expected to deliver 261 horsepower, an estimated efficiency of 70 MPGe, and an all-electric driving range of about 32 miles.*
This powerful green partnership means that the Tucson PHEV SUV can tow up to 2,000 pounds when properly equipped, making it ideal for those weekend getaways. But the PHEV isn’t the only green option in the Tucson line. You can get a standard hybrid model for the 2022 model year, too.
You’ll have to wait until sometime this summer to see the 2022 Hyundai Tucson PHEV in person. Contact us at Tipton Hyundai in Brownsville, Texas, to learn more about this vehicle’s details and when preorders will open.
