Hyundai is one of the most awarded vehicle brands in the auto industry, with a consistent history of customer loyalty and vehicle reliability. Here are just a few of the awards the 2020 Hyundai lineup has won so far.
#1 Brand Keys
Customer Loyalty Engagement Index
For the11th year in a row, the Brand Keys
Customer Loyalty and Engagement Index found that Hyundai inspires the greatest
customer loyalty in the auto industry. For over a decade, Hyundai customers
have been most likely to buy another Hyundai vehicle rather than switch brands.
IIHS Top Safety Picks
A whopping nine 2020 Hyundai vehicles were named IIHS Top
Safety Picks, and the 2020 NEXO was even given the highest possible designation
of Top Safety Pick+. To be named a Top Safety Pick, vehicles must earn superior
crash test ratings across the board.
5-Year Cost to Own
The 2020 Elantra, Santa Fe, and Venue all won their
categories in the Kelley Blue Book 5-Year Cost to Own Awards, which measure
cost of ownership over the first five years, including insurance costs,
maintenance and repairs, fuel, and depreciation. KBB also named the Hyundai

If you’re shopping for a new or used car, you know that the guides at Kelley Blue Book are essential research tools. This year, the Hyundai Santa Fe and Hyundai Kona – both the traditional and electric versions – got the revered publication’s stamp of approval at the 2020 Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Awards.
“It is an honor to receive Kelley Blue Book Best Buy
Awards for the Kona, Kona Electric and Santa Fe, demonstrating Hyundai’s
commitment to developing a range of product offerings that deliver great customer
value,” said Mike O’Brien, vice president, product, corporate and digital
planning for Hyundai Motor America.
Considering that the Hyundai Santa Fe is the brand’s
best-selling SUV in the U.S., it’s not surprising that it has fans in the
media. It drove home with the award for Best 2-Row Midsize SUV. The newer
Hyundai Kona won in the Best Subcompact SUV category, and the 2020 Kona
Electric conquered the general Best Electric Car segment.
It’s not easy to win a KBB.com award. The site’s team tests
vehicles over a year period, watches customer reviews, and examines its
signature 5-Year Cost to Own numbers to determine which new models are the best
choice for American drivers. At the beginning of the process, analysts were
looking at more than 300 cars, and then they narrowed the list down to a few
dozen options before choosing the final Best Buys for 16 segments.
For the second year running, Autotrader has named Hyundai the best non-luxury CPO program, in part because it has the longest manufacturer warranty coverage in the industry.
It’s also the third time in the last four years that Hyundai
took the top spot among non-luxury brands for its certified pre-owned vehicle
program. According to Autotrader
executive editor Brian Moody, there’s very good reason for that honor.
“Hyundai’s certified pre-owned program is a significant
value and perfect for budget-minded shoppers looking for a no-hassle,
affordable car,” he said, adding that the length of the powertrain warranty,
limited bumper-to-bumper new car warranty, and 10-year roadside assistance were
hard to beat. “In fact, if you want a better overall certified program, you’ll
need to move up to a luxury brand.”
To determine the best CPO programs, Autotrader looks at warranty as well as available inventory,
deductible amount, and transferability to future vehicle owners.
Hyundai’s CPO program includes the following features:
A comprehensive 173-point quality assurance
A 10-year/100,000-mile CPO powertrain limited
The remainder of the 5-year/60,000-mile new
vehicle limited warranty from the original in-service date and zero miles
10-year/unlimited mileage roadside assistance
from the original in-service date and zero miles
Rental car and travel interruption reimbursement
SiriusXM® satellite radio with no-charge,
three-month All Access trial

Once again, a Hyundai vehicle has garnered a prestigious Editor’s Choice award from Car and Driver. This time, the 2019 Hyundai Veloster Turbo is the recipient of this well-regarded distinction. Given the 2019 Veloster Turbo’s incredible feature set, striking style, and exhilarating powertrain, the distinction comes as no surprise, though it does reaffirm what we already knew — this bold compact is an absolute blast to drive.
Car and Driver praised the Veloster’s “stiff structure, great steering, and a well-tuned suspension” which “make it feel lovely on twisty roads.” Scott Margason, Director of Product Planning for Hyundai Motor America, noted that the award is “another proof point of Hyundai’s commitment to excellence.”
The 2019 Hyundai Veloster Turbo comes equipped with a 201-horsepower engine that generates 195 lb-ft of torque for an ultra-responsive, undeniably thrilling experience on the road. And thanks to a new multi-link rear suspension, each ride is as smooth as it is fun.

Hyundai did well at the recent AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards, beating out several key competitors to earn four top spots. The brand won an overall title, while the Sonata, Elantra, and Accent specifically earned awards for their respective classes.
AutoPacific is a marketing research and product-consulting company that gives out the Vehicle Satisfaction Awards by looking at qualities that are important to car shoppers when they’re buying new cars. After tallying survey results from approximately 58,000 people, the AutoPacific group found that Hyundai earned the 2018 Most Satisfying Popular Brand award. The Sonata took the gold for mid-size cars; the Elantra won in the compact class; and the Accent won in the economy category, according to Hyundai.
“Hyundai has consistently improved their lineup across the board,” said George Peterson, president, AutoPacific. “This year’s VSAs were competitive, but Hyundai’s products resonate top to bottom with their customers. From reliability and quality to exceptional exterior and interior design, Hyundai cars leave consumers satisfied.”
So far, the Sonata is the best Hyundai in terms of awards, as this mid-size car has award-winning safety, top-notch technologies, and a sleek new design for this latest model year. The Elantra comes with smart features such as disc brakes, heated mirrors, and driver assist technologies, while the upscale Accent will wrap you in comfort as you drive.
